Puerto Vallarta

Family members pooled their resources together so that I could accompany my other half to see his son's wedding in Puerto Vallarta. This beautiful couple got married on the beaches of Puerto Vallarta and I believe they must have chosen this spot for their wedding because that is where he proposed to her.

I would never have been able to afford this trip and I am grateful to them for including me. Puerto Vallarta has beautiful beaches with all kinds of seabirds. It was so restful to walk along the beach to the roar of the waves and the warm Mexican sun shining on my face. I delighted in watching the families building sandcastles and small children learning how to swim in the warm waters.

We took a tour to the town and it had an old world charm. The streets were packed with vehicles and somehow, in the narrow streets, the drivers seemed to negotiate through them with no "road rage". The roadways were stones and mortar and built in another age so it was not really meant for vehicles but probably horses.
By happy coincidence or serendipity, a couple was outside the church to celebrate their 50th anniversary and they were dressed up like their wedding day. She was wearing a gold dress.
I thought it was a great omen.
