As polar ice melts there is no indication that we are going to do anything to change our habits. When we buy cheap goods from Walmart and other large retailers, not only do manufacturing jobs in North America disappear but we are contributing to the demise of various species, our planet and ourselves. I have an eye opening article about what these imports are costing us. Too bad there isn't a dollar value being added. If Stephan Dion also taxed products based on the miles they have traveled to get here then I think his green tax may not be a bad idea.
